Cooler than normal weather has moved back into the area and it looks like it will stick around, for the most part, for the next week or so. Thankfully the weather looks dry with a bit more sun, so it won’t be the gloomy Fall weather, just chilly.
Much of the area will experience mostly cloudy skies for today. A bit of sun will break out this morning and around midday, mainly south of Marathon county, so that could boost temperatures up to around 50 in the south, otherwise most locations will have highs in the 40s. There will be less wind than yesterday so that should help make it feel a little nicer. Westerly winds will be about 10 to 18 mph through the day. A weak weather system moving in from the west and tracking through southern Wisconsin late this afternoon (after 3pm) will bring a chance of light rain to areas south of Stevens Point.
High pressure will gradually develop over our area through Thursday and Friday. This means quiet weather with more sun. The clouds will start to break up on Thursday afternoon and then we should have plenty of sun on Friday. Highs on Thursday will be on the chilly side, only in the low 40s, then we should experience some mid to upper 40s on Friday.
The sun should last into Saturday and with a southerly wind, high temps should climb into the 50s. It will be the nicest day in the forecast.
A cold front moving in from the west on Sunday will bring more clouds and cool things down a bit. High on Sunday will top out in the upper 40s. The cool down will continue early next week with the mercury only rising up to around 40 on Monday, and staying in the 30s on Tuesday. In addition to the cool down, there is a chance of rain and snow on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
Have a very nice Wednesday! Meteorologist Justin Loew, 4:30 a.m. 23-October-2019
