Make sure to enjoy some mild weather for today and tomorrow because big changes are on the way. We might not have any 60 degree weather again until late next week.

Today will be similar to yesterday with mild temperature and a good amount of sun. Just a few high clouds might drift through from time-to-time. Winds will be out of the south-southeast at 10 to 20 mph, so it will be a little breezy. High temperatures should reach the upper 60s to around 70, so just a tad warmer than yesterday. Most of tomorrow should be nice as well, except that we will not have as much sun. The weather will turn mostly cloudy and high temps should be in the 60s.

It is Thursday evening when things will begin to change. A strong low pressure system and cold front will move in from the west and bring some rain and a few rumbles of thunder. Off-and-on rain will continue through midday Friday before tapering off a bit in the afternoon. In addition to the rain, temperatures will be falling. It will still be mild when you wake-up Friday morning with temps near 60 but then the wind direction will change and temps will fall into the 40s during the afternoon.

Temperature will continue to fall into the weekend with some widespread freezing temperatures in the low 30s on Saturday and Sunday mornings and high temps only around 40 on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The strong low pressure system will continue to linger over the Great Lakes region of the country so there will be plenty of clouds over the weekend and some spotty showers, especially around Wausau or farther north. It will be cold enough for a few scattered snow showers as well. It might be that case that some of the snow accumulates a little in grassy areas. Don’t be surprised if you see some flakes of snow in your area.

The weather will start to turn a little warmer early next week with highs in the mid to upper 40s, but the weather will still remain fairly cloudy on Monday and Tuesday.
