Some cool, damp, and cloudy weather is on the way for the next couple of days but Summer is not over yet. Some warmer weather is likely later this week.
We will start out with a few showers today so you might need a rain jacket at times during the morning. Mostly cloudy skies will continue into the afternoon when some thunderstorms might develop as well. The highest chance of a few thunderstorms will be in the western part of the area, west of Marathon county. The threat of severe weather is fairly low but there is a chance a couple of the storms might produce some hail, gusty winds or a brief tornado. With the clouds rather prevalent, it will be a cooler day with highs in the upper 60s to around 70. Winds will be out of the east at 5 to 10 mph.
The storms system that is bringing the scattered showers and storms today will continue to linger over Northcentral Wisconsin overnight and into Wednesday morning. This means some scattered showers will linger. By Wednesday afternoon the weather should dry up and there could be a few peeks of sun late. With more clouds than sun and a northeast wind, Wednesday will be cool again with highs in the upper 60s to around 70.
On Thursday skies should become partly cloudy, allowing high temps to rise into the 70s. Friday could be a little warmer with the mercury topping out in the mid to upper 70s but a weak low pressure system approaching from the west will bring more clouds and a 50% chance of rain and storms. This same low pressure system could drag a cold front through the area again on Saturday, bring another chance of a few thunderstorms.
The weather will continue to warm-up over the weekend with highs around 80. Early next week should continue to be warm with highs in the low to mid 80s. The weather will be humid as well.
