Quiet, more seasonal weather on the way for a while

Sunday: Partly sunny, chance of flurries or a few snow showers north during the afternoon and evening.

A significant change in the weather occurred Friday, with breezy northwest winds bringing much cooler air across the area. Temperatures during the afternoon ranged from the upper 20s to low 30s north of Wausau, and the low to mid 30s south.

The forecast the next several days includes relatively quiet conditions, with little precipitation. Flurries will be possible into Saturday morning north of Wausau, with minor accumulations far-north. There will be a chance of a few snow showers or flurries later Sunday into early Monday across the north. Some light rain or snow will be possible throughout the area Tuesday.

After a cool weekend, there will be a gradual warming next week, with temperatures eventually trending a bit above average. Morning lows will remain below freezing during the period.

An Urban and Small Stream Flood Warning (for rain and snow melt) remains in effect until 3:45 p.m. Saturday for Shawano, Portage, Waupaca, and Waushara Counties.
