Feeling more like mid November today

Today: Mostly cloudy, blustery, and chilly. A 40% chance of rain/snow showers through midday in the far North.

High: 40 Wind: NW 15-25, gusting to 35

Tonight: Partial clearing and frosty.

Low: 28 Wind: NW around 10

Chilly conditions continue for much of the next seven days.

It’ll be feeling more like early winter across north central Wisconsin today as breezy winds bring in much colder air behind the cold front that moved through last evening. Temperatures already reached their highs for today early this morning when they were in the 40s. Breezy northwest winds gusting up to 35 mph and mostly cloudy skies will keep temperatures fairly steady in the upper 30s to around 40 most of the day, with wind chills below freezing. There will also be a few isolated rain/snow showers in the far northern part of the area through midday. We’ll see partial clearing develop this evening and overnight with winds beginning to subside. It’ll be a cold one tonight, with lows dropping into the mid to upper 20s.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected Friday morning, but they’ll turn partly cloudy during the afternoon. It won’t be as windy, but it’ll still be cool with highs in the low 40s. It’ll be another frosty start on Saturday morning with mostly sunny skies expected, but clouds will be on the increase in the afternoon with an isolated chance of showers into the early evening. Highs will be in the upper 40s to around 50 with gusty winds in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy skies will continue in the Northwoods on Sunday with an isolated chance for rain/snow showers, but partly cloudy skies will be possible in the southern part of the area. It’ll be breezy again with highs in the low to mid 40s.

We’ll stay cool with highs only in the low to mid 40s to start next week, but at least skies will be partly cloudy on Monday. We’ll see more clouds move into the area on Tuesday with a slight chance of a rain or snow shower in the Northwoods. Otherwise, more sunshine will develop on Wednesday and Thursday with temperatures getting closer to normal in the mid to upper 50s by next Thursday.

Have a terrific Thursday! Meteorologist Sam Kuffel 2:30 a.m. 11-October 2018
