More wet weather for today then a bit drier spell. The sun might even break out a bit more after today, but the weather will be a lot colder.

A FLOOD WATCH continues for most of the area through this afternoon. Most of the steady rain for today will occur during the morning, then a few scattered showers will continue into the afternoon and early evening, so your umbrella will be most handy early in the day. High temps will range from the low 70s in the far southern part of the area, to near 60 around Wausau, to the chilly low 50s in the Northwoods. Winds will turn a bit to the southeast around 5 to 10 mph.

The storm system that is bringing all of the rain over the last couple of days will finally move north of Wisconsin tonight but it will still be close enough to bring a few sprinkles and with the cold air pouring in behind this weather system, a few rain and snow showers to the far north Thursday morning. Don’t be surprised to see some flakes in the air around Glidden, Park Falls, Minocqua, and Eagle River. Thursday will start out fairly cloudy, then a few breaks of sun should develop for the afternoon, especially in the southern part of the area. You will want your warm Fall jacket handy as high temps will only reach the low to mid 40s. It will also be blustery on Thursday with west-northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph. On Friday we will have variable clouds and highs once again in the low to mid 40s, but it will feel a little better with less wind.

We should have some dry weather and a bit of sun Saturday morning, then the clouds will increase and a small chance of light showers will develop in the evening. That small chance of light showers will continue into Sunday when there might even be a couple flakes of snow toward evening. Temps should be slightly milder on Saturday, climbing up to around 50s, then it will be back into the chilly 40s on Sunday. Monday could be the coldest day in the outlook with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 40s.

Have a stupendous Wednesday! Meteorologist Justin Loew 4:30 a.m. 10-October 2018
