Marathon County challenges families to get active this spring

MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) — Wausau and Marathon County Parks, Recreation and Forestry begins its “Active Family Challenge” starting April 15.

The challenge asks families across Marathon County to track their hours of physical activity while rewarding them in the process.

Over a nine week period, when registered families hit the goals of 15, 30, 45, and 60 hours they will receive incentives. Each family member will track their hours and at the end of the week, add them and divide the members of the family.

The challenge runs from April 15 to June 15, and will have various activities planned around the community to take part in. Some of the activities are physically active, like Pickleball lesson, and bonding activities like “Singing and S’mores.”

Registration for the “Active Family Challenge” continues through April 20, the cost is $25 per family.
