MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) – A 32-year-old Plover man told who he thought was a 14-year-old girl he wanted to get her pregnant and marry her, according to a criminal complaint filed in Marathon County Court.

Christopher Smith is facing more than 65 years in prison if convicted of three felonies he’s facing.

An undercover police officer posed as a 14-year-old on Facebook and began chatting with Smith through Facebook Messenger, according to the complaint.

Smith asked for naked photos and talked about having sex with the teen, police said.

He made statements like, “be my youngest,” and “I’ll love you till you die ok u just need to listen and trust me,” the complaint said.

Police said Smith made arrangements to meet up with the teen in Marathon County and that’s when he was arrested.

He’s being held on a $25,000 signature bond, where the first $5,000 is cash.

Smith is not allowed to have contact with anyone under 18 and is not allowed to use social media or the internet.
He’s due back in court later this week.
