Schofield mobile home park officially sold

SCHOFIELD (WAOW) — Things seem to be moving forward for a Schofield mobile home park.

The Northern Mobile Home Park that has struggled to stay open is officially sold.

Less than two weeks ago, News 9 reported that the mobile home park would be getting a new owner and on Tuesday night News 9 was also the first to find out the sale is now final.

Six months ago, Schofield City Council voted to revoke the Northern Mobile Home Park’s license after inspections found code violations and unsafe conditions.

In September, the 30 people who currently live there were given an Oct. 19 deadline to move out.

“If we don’t have to move we don’t want to move,” said Lois Reuther, who has lived at the park for 56 years with her husband.

News 9 was able to obtain the first documents of the sale from the city.

It said, “Northern Mobile Home LLC sold the property and the closing date was listed as Oct.9.”

Even with the new ownership, residents worry about that Oct 19th. deadline and whether they will still have to find new homes.

“I wish we could find better answers to put us at ease and not have our holidays interrupted or anything,” Reuther said.

Reuther said she spoke with the new owner, Chris Reeves, and that he has already started working on improvements at the park before the sale was final doing his best to provide a safe living environment.

“He is trying to get improvements done and hopefully he can do it so we can stay here,”  Reuther said.

News 9 also spoke with Reeves and he said he is confident that residents will continue to be able to call this place home.

On Wednesday, Reeves told News 9 he was applying for license but that still needs to be approved by the city council.

He also mentioned adding an on site office for official use and for residents to directly come to his team about concerns.
