Only two state games had ever gone to four overtime periods before today’s competition.
The Central Wisconsin Storm had been a part of one of them.
Now they’ve been a part of two of three four overtime games.
Eden Gruber and Trinity Foster scored for the Storm, while Katrina Frederickson played a stellar game in net, but it ultimately wasn’t enough, as Hudson’s Syndey Hendricks was able to hit the game winner in the fourth overtime period.
“I couldn’t be more proud of every single girl,” Foster said. “We had Katrina playing out of her mind in the net. We had girls flying around the ice, when one person went down there was someone right behind them to step up and take the job and I am so proud of the way everyone played today..”
“We have an expectation every year to be the best team we can be..and if that means getting to the state tournament then so be it. But we always look to get better but this group of girls has elevated the Storm program with the things they do and will continue to do,” said head coach Peter Susen.
