Packers place Allison on IR, release Whitehead

The Packers have placed wide receiver on injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday.

They’ve also released safety Jermaine Whitehead.

In addition, the team signed CB Will Redmond to the active roster and linebacker Brady Sheldon to the practice squad.

Redmond was originally signed to the Packers practice squad on Sept. 11.

He was a third round pick by the 49’ers in the 2016 draft out of Mississippi State.

Redmond spent his entire rookie season and the first eight games of last season on the IR with knee and ankle injuries.

He was released by the 49’ers last season, and signed with the Chiefs practice squad.  They released him in Sept. of this year.
