Newman Catholic’s Magical Season Ends in Final Four

The Newman Catholic Cardinals headed into Saturday, with momentum and confidence.

But those weren’t enough to get the win against the Catholic Central Hilltoppers.

The Catholic Central Hilltoppers comfortably won the first two sets, but faced adversity in the third. They found themselves down 23-18 to the Cardinals, but rallied to win the set and the match.

Along with their impressive comeback, the  Hilltoppers also made history with 17 aces through the course of the three sets. That number is a new WIAA Division Four tournament record for a three set match.

With the victory the Hilltoppers will now play for the Division 4 Girls state volleyball title on Saturday.
