UPDATE: Victim identified in deadly Waupaca Co. crash

WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) — The boy who died in a two-vehicle crash in Waupaca County Sunday afternoon was identified Monday as Grant Madsen, 17, from the town of Caledonia.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office says Madsen lost control of his vehicle on Highway 45, crossed the center line, and hit an oncoming vehicle.

The crash happened half a mile north of Cty Hwy N. The sheriff’s office received the 911 call at about 4:23 p.m.

Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, Bear Creek Fire first responders, New London Gold Cross, Wisconsin State Patrol and Waupaca County Highway Department all assisted at the scene.

WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) — A teenager is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Waupaca County Sunday afternoon.

Deputy Huberty says the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on Highway 45, half a mile north of Cty Hwy N around 4:23 p.m.

Authorities say a 17-year-old man from rural Fremont lost control of his vehicle, crossed over the center line and hit another vehicle.

The names of those involved are not being released at this time.

Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, Bear Creek Fire first responders, New London Gold Cross, Wisconsin State Patrol and Waupaca County Highway Department all assisted at the scene.
