WAUSAU (WAOW) — Winter Fest takes over the 400 block, downtown Wausau, on Saturday. The event takes place from 10 AM to 3 PM featuring a variety of free activities.
The event includes horse-drawn carriage rides, ice carvings, ice skating, and one staple that almost wasn’t ready in time.
“We made snow to put into the slide, so we will have the slide for this event, which was not looking so promising three weeks ago” said Lindsey Lewitzke, Interim Director of Wausau Events.
Winter Fest will also feature its Mac and Cheese Tasting. This activity costs $5 per punch card, and will be showcasing five different takes on the dish from local business. Sixth Street Filling Station, the reigning champion of the Mac and Cheese Tasting, will defend its title.
For the adults, Wausau Events will also host Winter Brew Fest tonight from 7 PM to 10 PM at the Elks Lodge #248.
