Victim identified in fatal Vilas Co. crash

*UPDATE* — The man who was killed in Wednesday’s two-car crash in Vilas County has been identified.

Timothy A. Boss, 59, of Manitowish Waters, was killed in the crash, per a press release from the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office.

The status of the others who sustained non-life-threatening injuries is still unknown at this time, per the release.

The crash remains under investigation.

BOULDER JUNCTION, Wis. (WAOW) — One person has died in a head-on collision Wednesday near a highway intersection that has left part of the road shut down.

According to a press release from Vilas Co. Sheriffs, the crash occurred at about 10:19 a.m. at the intersection of HWY 51 and Bakken Road in Boulder Junction.

Per the release, officials discovered two full-size pick up trucks collided head on with each other. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but “other non-life-threatening injuries to other occupants and drivers” were reported.

Drivers are advised to be careful and give emergency crews time to investigate, per the release.
