Wisconsin Rapids (WAOW) — Police say a suspicious device in a backpack led to the Marathon Co. bomb squad being called in Wisconsin Rapids.

Police say they responded to a person slumped over the wheel of a car on 10th Ave. North around 9:40 a.m. Thursday.

Officers revived the person and say they discovered a suspicious device in the subjects backpack. They say the person told them there was no threat, but out of caution they called in the bomb squad.

Officials determined it was a cardboard tube containing welding rods.
