MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) — September 23-27 is national diaper awareness week, and the United Way of Marathon County is asking for your help.

The United Way’s Bundles of Joy program provided 26,000 diapers to families in 2018. A child, on average, will need over 2500 diapers and 3000 wipes during their first year of life, but families in need can receive the program’s assistance this year.

“If a family needs food, they can go to the food pantries. If they dont have a place to live, we do have shelter services available in our community. But if you need diapers theres really no place to go other than bundles of joy” said Sue Haupt, United Way of Marathon County’s communications director.

The United Way of Marathon County accepts donations on weekdays year-round from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
