STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WAOW) — After hearing the news of K-9 Luna passing away last week due to organ failure, the Sentry Insurance Foundation decided to contribute to the Stevens Point Police Department in a great way.
On Monday, Sentry Insurance presented the department with $20,000. The money will go toward getting a new K-9.
“Their generous contribution of the $20,000 will pay for being able to get our next K-9 officer here to our community,” Stevens Point Police Chief Marty Skibba said. “We’re looking for that training to start in early November.”
Chief Skibba also said the department hopes to have a new K-9 servicing the community by December.
