MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) — The D.C. Everest Area School District’s partnership with busing company Lamers Bus Lines gives parents the tools to track students’ bus routes in real-time.

The Versatrans My Stop app has been functioning for about two years within the district, according to a Lamers Bus Lines employee.

My Stop allows parents to see the route the bus is on and estimated times of arrival, along with a host of other functions.

“If it seems like the bus is running late, the app will alert you to that. If there are weather-related issues … they can check the app to see where the bus is at all times,” said Sean McCue, dispatcher for Lamers Bus Lines

To repair any broken links in the chain of a child’s arrival, Lamers has protocol to make sure no child is left behind.

“The buses have a feature where if you try to exit without going all the way to the back, looking under and behind — then hitting that button — it lights up and the horn will go off,” said McCue.

The software can also be used on a computer to update contact and day care information, special transportation accommodations or notify if your child may not be riding that day.

The free to download app is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

IPhone users can click here for a step-by-step guide for the app; for Android users, click here.

Personal information is needed to sign-in and can be retrieved from the school district.
