GREEN BAY, Wis. (WAOW) — The first significant injury in 2019 for the Green Bay Packers wasn’t suffered by a player; instead, it was their head coach.

According to NFL Network’s Michael Silver, Packers coach Matt LaFleur tore his achilles while playing Knockout, a basketball game, on a Lambeau hoops court Wednesday.

Silver shared the news via Twitter Friday morning:

The first-year Packers head coach will have surgery Sunday, according to Silver.
