Organization raises money to pay mortgage for fallen deputy’s family

McHENRY COUNTY, IL (WREX) — The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation will work to pay the mortgage off for a McHenry County Sheriff’s deputy killed in the line of duty.

Deputy Jacob Keltner was killed Thursday while serving a warrant for the U.S. Marshals in Rockford. The 13-year law enforcement veteran leaves behind a wife, Becky, and two young sons.

The Tunnel to Towers, through the Fallen First Responder Program, will contribute money from the public to pay off the mortgage on the family home.

Frank Siller, chairman and CEO of Tunnel to Towers said, “We are taking this step because we recognize that following the loss of a first responder in the line of duty it is vital to provide reassurance to the surviving spouse and children that their home is secure—that there will be no need for them to move and leave behind everything that is important to them as they face the future.”
