(ROME) WAOW – The Rome Police Department says the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Police told them an individual was threatening violence through the use of a bomb.
Police say CIA Police agents received the threat in an email.
According to press release, the message stated a bomb had been built and would be used to kill a Wisconsin Rapids resident.
The email was traced to the residence where Chad E. Wawrzyniak, 33, lives. Police went to the residence and took Wawrzyniak into custody once he arrived in a vehicle.
The release says Wawrzyniak told officers he had built a bomb and stored it in a shed on his property. Police say a device was recovered from the property by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Bomb squad.
The incident remains under investigation.
