UPDATE: Bond set for Weston bar shooting suspect

*UPDATE* — We now know that Sergio Retana will have his initial court appearance at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Police say video surveillance shows Retana, a convicted felon who had violated parole in Iowa, could be seen drawing a gun and firing multiple shots at the victim after an apparent verbal argument.

Retana’s bond was set at $500,000 cash in Marathon County Court Monday.


WESTON (WAOW) — The suspect in the weekend shooting in Weston has been identified as Sergio Retana, 30, according to the Everest Metro Police Department.

The male victim in the early Sunday morning shooting at Kelly Club on Ross Ave. is reportedly still in the hospital.

Residents told News 9 it’s normally a peaceful neighborhood.

No word on when Retana might appear on the suspected charges.

The extent of the victim’s injuries in unknown.
