KRONENWETTER, Wis. (WAOW) — Kronenwetter Public Works and the Kronenwetter Fire Department responded to dozens of calls regarding street and home flooding on Thursday, causing some roads to be closed.

“When we have 60 inches of snow in one month and when it all melts at the same time, and we get a couple inches of rain on top of it we’re really going to have an issue,” said Kronenwetter Director of Public Works Christopher Johnson.

Johnson said one location near Plum Rd and Meadow Ct reached up to a foot and a half of water, causing that road to be closed off.

“We actually had a car stuck here this morning,” said Johnson. “Kind of warranting a real immediate safety concern for travelers in this area.”

Johnson added that drivers should be careful when they see flooded areas, because it could cause significant damage to your car.

Kronenwetter Public Works is asking residents to please be patient with them as they’re working as hard as they can to get rid of the excess water.
