Wausau (WAOW)- The United Way is celebrating National 211 Day.
211 is a free information line to help connect people with health and human service needs such as opioid addiction and mental health calls. The organization says this time of year is busy because of tax season.
“For senior citizens or for those that’re low to moderate income and they’re seeking tax preparation assistance, they’ll call 211 to see what resources are available in their community” said Maiger Moua 211 Program Director for The United Way.
In Wisconsin, there are seven 211 centers located throughout the state.
