How Wisconsinites see snow

Wausau (WAOW) — Central Wisconsin is no stranger to snow, but how has the approach to it changed over the years?

In March of 1997, a late winter storm sent Wisconsinites back outside to dig out.  Some used shovels and said they preferred snowblowers, others were using their blowers to help out neighbors.

On Thursday, we went to the professionals and to your doors to find out what locals are doing.

John Erickson, a Wausau resident, said he prefers his snowblower because the snow from the plows leave too much to shovel off of his driveway.

Now, as we get closer to spring, you may have less of a choice in the matter.

Steve Richetto, the owner Greber’s in Wausau, said they don’t have many snowblowers left in their store. Over the years, he said, the sales may change but the blowers themselves remain the same.

Over the years, it looks like opinions have stayed the same and sales are the only thing to change. Let us know if you prefer shovels or snowblowers on our Facebook page.
