IRMA (WAOW) — To wrap up his first week in office, Governor Tony Evers toured Lincoln Hills juvenile prison on Friday.
Scott Walker did not visit the embattled youth prison while in office.
After his visit, Evers tweeted out his thanks to the prison superintendent and administrator. He said that while the visit fulfills a promise he made, his work is far from over.
Criminal justice reform was one of his campaign promises and something he said would be a priority for his administration.
Lincoln Hills is set to close in 2021. In it’s place, regional facilities will be built.
