Volunteers Raise More Than $10,000 for Toys for Tots

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WAOW) — Santa isn’t the only one who can deliver a lot of toys.

Dozens of people gathered at Fleet Farm in Stevens Point on Tuesday night to buy toys, toys and more toys.

The group of volunteers was from Mid-State Trucks and Furniture and Appliance Mart.

The volunteers raised more than $10 thousand dollars to purchase toys for the Toys for Tots campaign.

12-year-old Rose Fonti is a 7th grader who went to help pick out toys.

“Some kids don’t really have toys sometimes, those kids that are unfortunate, and they wake up and they don’t have toys,” Fonti said. “With Toys for Tots, we give them the chance to just be kids and give them toys to be happy.”

CEO of Furniture and Appliance Mart Bill Fonti says this is the 12th year the group has partnered with Toys for Tots.

The volunteers filled up a “Truckers for Tots” semi-truck with all their purchases.
