Road crews prep for expected weather

WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) — With snow expected Thursday night into Friday, Wausau Public Works is preparing their trucks and the roads.

The plows are getting all set to go before hitting the snowy roads in central Wisconsin. The salt is also getting loaded onto trucks.

The public works department said this is a tough transition, as there are still leaf piles to pick up in the city.

“Of course, with the snowfall coming, we will do our best to try to plow around those piles to try to not to kick those back up onto the boulevards where the citizens had those raked to the curb, so we can continue to pick those up next week,” Jason Quade, a Public Works Street Supervisor, said.

The department will continue to hook up plows and salt spreaders ahead of the expected snow.
