WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) — Tuesday was national “Love Your Redhead Day.”

In honor of the day, a number of redheads gathered at the Chatterbox for “Ginger Fest.”

A photo booth and drinks kept the gingers and other patrons entertained.

Those involved with the event say it’s been in the works for a few months.

“People are super excited about this event,” said Stephanie Ott, a WDEZ radio host.

“We even had one of our co-workers dye his hair because he really wanted to be a ginger too,” said Chandra Lynn, another station host.

The WDEZ hosts are already looking ahead to January for a national “Hug-A-Ginger Day.”
