Stevens Point robbery suspect fails to show up to face charges

STEVENS POINT (WAOW) – A judge Tuesday issued an arrest warrant after one of three people arrested in the armed robbery of a Stevens Point tavern failed to show up in court, according to online Portage County court records.

Charles Miller, 37, of Wisconsin Rapids is charged with participating in armed robbery and two counts of felony possession of narcotic drugs in the July 14 robbery of the 13th Floor Bar.

His initial appearance was set for Tuesday but prosecutors told the judge that Miller escaped from jail and hadn’t returned, court records said.

Police say Miller and Taydisa Strassburg, 25, went into the bar shortly after it opened, one had a gun, they demanded money and they ran off with $10,000. Also arrested was an employee at the bar, 39-year-old Vicki Ladecki, who prosecutors say was in on the plot.
