Portage County Crime Stoppers: Cash ripped off from tavern

STEVENS POINT (WAOW) – Stevens Point police are searching for the burglars who broke into the Little White Inn and ran off with cash.

"The thieves got in through a window and then broke into the gaming machines and stole money," Sgt. Tony Zblewski said. "When they left, it tripped the alarm and then our officers responded."

The burglars had vanished by the time officers arrived – shortly after 3 a.m. on Aug. 17.

Investigators estimate the missing cash and the damages total hundreds of dollars.

"Even though it was during the early morning hours, Second Street is a busy road," Zblewski said. "Someone may have noticed someone there or someone unusual in the neighborhood."

If you have any information on the break-in contact Portage County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-346-6600.

You can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
