Forest Co. puts medical marijuana to advisory referendum

Forest County adds its name to a growing list of local governments putting medical marijuana to an advisory referendum.

So far, eight counties including Marathon and Brown Counties have already done it. In those areas, voters will be asked on the November ballot whether they think medical marijuana should be legalized.

The law would not change if the referendum passes. The results would just put political pressure on state lawmakers.
