A person of interest has been named in July 1 attack of a 28-year-old woman who was beaten while walking home from downtown, according to the Stevens Point Police Department.
Nayver Nardi Bravo Morales, 21, was arrested in a separate case, involving a stolen cellphone, a news release said.
On Aug. 6, a 52-year-old man reported someone smashed the windshield of his car in front of his house. A 20-year-old woman who lives at the same address reported someone went into her home on the 2200 block of Madison Street and stole her cellphone. A possible suspect was identified as the woman’s boyfriend. Later that day, police arrested Morales as a suspect, according to the release.
He had her phone, which was bent and the screen was shattered, according to police.
Morales admitted to damaging the car, according to the release.
After he was arrested and had a bond hearing, he was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
