Car enthusiasts kick off the 46th annual Iola Car Show

Every year thousands of motor heads fill an annual event in Waupaca County.

The Iola Car Show is celebrating its 46th year, and organizers said it’s the best year yet.

"We have more cars, more people, and more events going on," said marketing director Joe Opperman,

This year’s theme is cars that were featured in television and movies, along with service vehicles.

More than 2,500 hundreds rods are on display and about 120,000 people are expected to attend.

Two collectors said they’re favorite part is meeting new people who share a common interest.

"They genuinely find them more than just interesting, but collectibles," said collector Dennis Statz.

The event will continue through Saturday.
