Marathon County Crime Stoppers: Bus depot attack

WAUSAU (WAOW) – Marathon County investigators have released security camera video and pictures of what they call a defenseless attack at Wausau’s Metro Transit Center.

"It shows one of the passengers who got off a bus and attacked another passenger who is a special needs member of our community," Deputy Dale Ruechel said. "When someone is basically defenseless, this is absolutely unacceptable."

The June 26 attack on Jefferson Street happened shortly after the arrival of a Jefferson Lines bus from Minneapolis.

Investigators say a white male with dark hair and a full beard got off the bus and 2 1/2 minutes later he repeatedly punched a fellow traveler for unknown reasons.

The attacker is described as being about 5’10" tall and 150 pounds. He wore a black-bodied jacket with red sleeves.
