Dog found with with possible grill burns

A dog, found with severe burns is recovering at Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission.

MADACC said the male Terrier/Chi mix arrived in terrible pain and had to be sedated so his wounds could be cleaned.

"He had approximately 20 percent of skin on one side of body was burned," veterinarian Dr. Syna Johnson said.

The wounds appeared to have a grill pattern on them.

“It’s hard to say whether that was something that was intentional or (a) BBQ mishap gone wrong, trying to get a sausage off the grill or something,” said Kathy Shillinglaw of MADACC.

After a week, MADACC said the wounds are healing and the dog’s temperament is improving.

The agency is lining up a rescue for him that will put him in a foster home until he is ready to be adopted.

The people at MADACC aren’t sure who the dog’s owner is. They have just focused on taking care of him.
