Teen wounded in Antigo prom shooting released from hospital

ANTIGO (WAOW) – The teenager seriously wounded in the Antigo High School prom shooting was released from a Wausau hospital Friday, Antigo Police Chief Eric Roller said.

Collin Cooper was shot in the leg late Saturday night as he and his date left the prom.

"Collin will be recuperating under the care of his family at his residence," Roller said in a statement.

Cooper’s date suffered a minor wound when a bullet grazed her leg, police have said.

The shooter, 18-year-old Jakob Wagner, was immediately confronted by a policeman who was patrolling the school parking lot. The officer fired multiple shots, fatally wounding Wagner, police have said.

Police have offered no motive for the shooting. Wagner graduated from the school a year ago.
