CHICAGO (AP) — Curtis Granderson homered, tripled and scored three runs, Lorenzo Cain added three hits and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 5-1 on Wednesday night to move within a game of the NL Central lead. Granderson also got three hits and Mike Moustakas had a two-run single for Milwaukee, which took two of three from the first-place Cubs. Brewers beat Cubs 4-3 in 9th after Yelich beats throw

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Christian Yelich drove in the winning run with the bases loaded in the ninth after beating a throw from third to avoid a double play, and the Milwaukee Brewers opened an important three-game series with the Chicago Cubs with a 4-3 win Monday. The .316 hitter hit a 1-2 fastball from Jesse Chavez right at third baseman Kris Bryant, who touched third for the second out of the ninth before firing to first. 

Yelich’s first career grand slam sends Brewers past Nats

WASHINGTON (AP) — Christian Yelich hit his first career grand slam, Keon Broxton added a three-run homer, and the Milwaukee Brewers earned a series victory with a 9-4 victory over the Washington Nationals on Sunday. Both Broxton and Yelich homered as part of a seven-run fifth inning. It matched Milwaukee’s highest-scoring inning of the season.

Cain homers in 11th, lifts Brewers over Reds 2-1

Lorenzo Cain hit a home run off the top of the left field fence in the 11th inning and the Milwaukee Brewers, a day after winning a slugfest that went extras, edged the Cincinnati Reds 2-1 Thursday. 

Peralta, Yelich pace Brewers past Reds, 4-0

Rookie Freddy Peralta tossed seven scoreless innings and drove in a run with his first career hit, combining with two relievers on a five-hitter to lead the Milwaukee Brewers past the Cincinnati Reds 4-0 on Wednesday. 

Shaw, Yelich power Brewers past Reds, 5-2

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Brewers rallied for a 5-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night. Shaw’s two-run homer off Homer Bailey put the Brewers up 3-2 in the sixth.
