KING, Wis. (WAOW)-- Governor Evers reacting today to a warning from the Department of Education.
Wisconsin is at risk of losing more than a billion dollars in federal education funding, if a Republican-proposed school budget plan is approved.
Evers says while it is still early in the process, he is hoping legislators can come together to reach a decision.
"I think they made some limited decisions frankly that is not going to help our kids or our schools…Hopefully cooler heads and more reflection will save the day," Evers said.
Evers did not give an indication on how he would react if the proposal reached his desk.
