United Way of Marathon County looking for volunteers for National Volunteer Month

WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW)-- April is National Volunteer Month and the United Way of Marathon County are looking for volunteers.

National Volunteer Week is April 18-25.

For a reference, in 2020 United Way volunteers put in more than 54,990 hours helping throughout the community.

Volunteers with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) served the public at 43 different volunteer stations in 2020.

Volunteer opportunities can be viewed here and there are close to 400 opportunities to choose from.

"We could not do it without the volunteers, they are really the life blood of United Way and we value them immensely," said Krista Mischo the volunteer engagement coordinator with the United Way.
