Wausau School Board approves proposal to fully reopen

WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) — The Wausau School District School District is one step closer to returning to full-time in person learning.
According to a press release from the district, the Wausau School Board voted unanimously to move forward with a proposal to open schools full in person, five days a week at the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
Still, final board action has to be taken at the regular Board of Education meeting, scheduled to take place on April 12.
If the motion is approved, the District will no longer offer remote learning for brick-and-mortar schools. Instead, families would have to enroll in the District's virtual school, WAVE.
