WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) -- The United Way of Marathon County is bringing back the 'Adopt a Classroom" for the sixth straight year.

Kindergarten students in the Mosinee, Wausau, D.C. Everest, Marathon, and Edgar school districts will receive a specialized bag. It will include a book, an activity book, book mark and reading chart.

Area companies or businesses can choose to help 69 different kindergarten classrooms across those five districts.

Krista Micho, the volunteer engagement coordinator of the United Way of Marathon County, says it will help future generations.

"Buying books isn't always easy and possible for families to do and especially going to the library may be difficult," said Micho. "So buying them books and getting books into their hands is really good because when they're young they're learning to read."
