The Wausau West Warrior baseball program has their new general, longtime area baseball coach Jon Albee.
Albee is no stranger to the diamond having coached the Edgar Wildcats from 1999-2013. He has also worked at the youth level for around a decade teaching them techniques and instilling in them a love of the game.
In the press release announcing the move by the school West also said he was the man for the job because he, "Brings a skill set of developing character and leadership qualities in his students and players."
"It's exciting," said Albee of his hiring. "I do have some butterflies and that exciting feeling, that little bit of adrenaline I guess almost to get things going and see what I can do and to help the program."
"You know that's my goal is to try and help improve the program the best I can," continued Albee. "(To try to) give these players a great baseball experience throughout their years of playing baseball at Wausau West. We'll see where this process takes us and hopefully it's a good journey."
The Warriors first practice under Albee will be held April 19, with their first game getting under way April 28.
