WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) -- The Wood County community is making sure inmates are dressed properly for the weather once they are released.
The Wood County Sheriff's Department shared pictures of donations from a mom and daughter who wanted to remain anonymous.
They donated hats, gloves and other warm layers.
The discharge planner said inmates usually come in with just the clothes on their backs when booked.
"So being able to provide them with more layering like a jacket, gloves and hat to ensure safety and to make sure people are warm is important and shows compassion whether or not anyone has a history," said Sarah Salewsk the discharge planner.
An area couple also put together 40 hygiene kits.
