WAUSAU, Wis. (WAOW) — A series of murals are being revealed at the Wausau's one-time plaza hotel, which is now the Best Western.
The newly renovated hotel partnered with a local artist to display what the area has to offer. There was so much to feature, they decided to do a series of murals.
The hotel, now open has the murals on display in their lobby as well as many other areas of the building.
"I'm so honored to be a part of something that so many people can see for such a long time. It's really big accomplishment as an artist to be able to create something in a building this historic," artist Stephanie Kolhi said.
The many murals depict the beloved Balloon Fest, Granite Peaks slopes, Dudley Tower and more.
Hotel management they hope the unique features keeps guests coming back.
"The Wausau area has so much to offer, and a lot of people don't realize what it has to offer; well now we have it painted all over our hotel," Best Western plus manager Renee Tidd said.
The murals use a geometric angle to showcase the mountain and big artistic brushstrokes to display the cityscape'S colors.
All can be viewed by the public in the Best Western's lobby.
