STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WAOW) — The past year has been tough for many, whether it's financially, mentally or physically.

The Stevens Point YMCA, and YMCA's nationwide, want people to re-focus on themselves through a free six week program: the RESET Challenge.

It officially kicked off on February 1. The program is designed to transform the mind, body, and spirit. It requires a commitment five days a week for only 30 minutes a day to take charge of one's health.

"We know that this pandemic has really affected people in many different ways," Sharon Johnson, Stevens Point YMCA CEO said. "It's [RESET Challenge] truly a way for people to focus and re-focus on themselves. We all want to help each other, I think, through this. I think that's the nature of who we are as people, and we forget to take care of ourselves as part of it."

Participants will receive three texts and emails a week with challenges, motivation, workouts and more. A free tracking calendar and t-shirt will be given out for completing the challenge.

"I feel like it's that really encouraging opportunity for me to hear from other people that are probably in the same situation as I am, that I haven't focused on myself and that it's time to do that," Johnson added. "So this is truly that opportunity then to say internally I'm going to focus on myself."

You do not need a YMCA membership to participate. You can sign up for free here by searching "RESET."
