WESTON, Wis. (WAOW) -- Doug and Joan Cyvela are regular people. They're not healthcare workers or first responders, just a married couple over the age of 65.

Now, they're on their way to being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As of Monday, folks 65 and older are eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine in Wisconsin. Doug and Joan checked in at the Marshfield Medical Center in Weston at 9 a.m. that morning.

"We've been waiting a long time," Doug told me as he waited for his shot. Joan summed her feelings up in one word, "Grateful."

After a quick poke in the arm, Joan turned to her vaccinator and said, "you are good." Afterwards, she told me, "it was a miracle happening."

Across it's health system, Marshfield clinic received 30,000 requests for the vaccine. You can sign up by clicking on this link and taking the survey.
