NEILLSVILLE, Wis. (WAOW) -- The newest addition the Marshfield Clinic Health System, a hospital in Neillsville, will see its first patients this spring.
The new facility will make chemotherapy more accessible to local residents, among other things. Currently, patients need to drive to Marshfield or Eau Claire to receive that treatment.
Chief Administrative Officer for the region Ryan Neville said, "I'm very impressed. It is better and bigger than I envisioned and I am very excited for our patients and our communities to start accessing our facilities."
The project was made possible by donations from the community. Notably, the Wuethrich family donated $300,000 to bring the new hospital to their community.
