How to donate to the United Way during ‘A Call For Help’

(WAOW) -- Due to how coronavirus has impacted fundraising efforts, the United Way expects to lose 1.5 million dollars in assets for the community.

All funds donated to the United Way go to programs and projects that directly impact the community. They focus on creating change in the areas of health, education and financial stability.

News 9 is teaming up with the United Way for "A Call for Help" on August 18. There are multiple ways in which donations can be made to the United Way.

  • Text: WAOW to 269-89
  • CALL: 715-848-2927
  • Mail in: United Way 705 S 24th Ave. Suite 400 B Wausau WI, 54401. Include on the Memo Line: Community you wish to give and WAOW.
  • Online: Donations online at https://www.unitedwaymc.org/united-way-waow/

In all methods of donating, an individual can choose what county in Northcentral Wisconsin their donation goes to. Donations can also be set up as one-time, monthly or as a "round up." The round up method links a debit or credit card and donates to the United Way by rounding up purchases to the next dollar.
